FDOT Road Project Updates

Project Map

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is continuing safety and operational enhancements on State Road (S.R.) 19, from north of Stevens Avenue to County Road 452 in Eustis. The projects involve the resurfacing of the northbound and southbound lanes on State Road (S.R.) 19, known in Eustis as Grove Street and Bay Street. Beginning on October 20, there will be overnight intersection closures along both southbound and northbound S.R. 19, though only one intersection at one time each night.

FDOT has agreed to modify their work schedule during the Georgefest event (Feb. 22, 2025), which will help minimize disruptions to traffic and ensure the safety of parade attendees, residents, and visitors.

The updated schedule includes the following key changes:

  • No Work on High Volume Days:
FDOT has agreed to suspend work on Friday and Saturday, coinciding with the busiest days of the Georgefest Parade. The modified schedule will ensure that there is no construction work in the area during the peak times of the event.
  • Lane Closures:
Construction work on S.R. 19 will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily, starting Sunday, February 16, through Thursday, February 20. These adjusted hours will avoid major disruptions during the evening events and carnival activities.
  • Focus Areas:
The construction work will focus on the southern portion of the project area, specifically on the northbound lanes of S.R. 19. This work will primarily involve curbing, sidewalks, and shoulder improvements between Woodward and Badger.
