FDOT Road Project Updates

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is continuing safety and operational enhancements on State Road (S.R.) 19, from north of Stevens Avenue to County Road 452 in Eustis. The projects involve the resurfacing of the northbound and southbound lanes on State Road (S.R.) 19, known in Eustis as Grove Street and Bay Street. Beginning on October 20, there will be overnight intersection closures along both southbound and northbound S.R. 19, though only one intersection at one time each night. Road closures for next week, November 17-23, include:

• Sunday, November 17, through 8 a.m. Saturday, November 23: East Lemon Avenue will be closed between Bay Street and Eustis Street for Teco Peoples Gas line work.

Detour information: Heading west on Lemon Avenue from Grove Street: Take a right on Eustis Street, left on Citrus Avenue, left on Bay Street and then a right on Lemon Street. Heading east on Lemon Avenue toward Bay Street: Take a right on Bay Street, left on Ward Avenue, left on Eustis Street and then a right on Lemon Street. 

Rotating daily lane closures will continue. Lane Closures include:

Overnight

• Sunday, November 17, through Saturday, November 23, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists should expect overnight rotating right and left lane closures on southbound Bay Street, for curb construction, sidewalks and driveway entrance reconstruction.

• Monday, November 18, through Tuesday, November 19, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.: Motorists should expect overnight rotating right and left lane closures on Bay Street, for temporary striping.

Daytime

• Sunday, November 17, through Saturday, November 23, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.: Motorists should expect overnight rotating right and left lane closures on State Road (S.R.) 19, for saw cutting, curb construction, drainage, saw cutting and driveway entrance reconstruction.
