Georgefest Breakfast Marks the First Event in the 123rd Annual Georgefest Celebration

EUSTIS, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2025) — The Georgefest celebration officially began on Tuesday, February 5, with the annual Georgefest Breakfast, bringing together local business owners, community leaders, and commissioners for an exciting preview of the upcoming festivities. Hosted at LifePoint Church, the event served as the first gathering in the lead-up to the 123rd Georgefest.

The morning featured a special proclamation read by Commissioner Michael Holland, who presented the official declaration to the citizens of Eustis, honoring the community’s longstanding tradition of Georgefest. "It’s an honor to be part of such a wonderful community event," said Commissioner Holland. "Georgefest is an important occasion that unites us all and highlights the spirit of Eustis."

This year’s breakfast also featured an inspiring keynote speech from Becky Murray, Deputy Director of the Engineering Directorate at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, who tied the theme of Georgefest 2025 to the advancements in space exploration.

One of the highlights of the morning was the announcement of the King and Queen of Georgefest 2025. Roxanne Cruz, Vice President of United Southern, was crowned Queen, while George Asbate, a founder of the MEGA Work Place, was named King. The Queen and King will serve as the official ambassadors for the festival, leading the community into the heart of the upcoming events.

“The Georgefest Breakfast is always a fantastic way to get the community excited for what’s to come,” said Miranda Muir, Director of Events and Communications for The City of Eustis. “Today was just the first step, and we’re all eagerly looking forward to the festivities that will follow all month.”

While the Georgefest Breakfast marks the beginning of the celebration, the next event will be Eustis' First Friday, the Georgefest Pre-Party. Join us in Downtown Eustis starting at 6 PM for a double dose of excitement! It’s First Friday AND the Georgefest Pre-Party! Enjoy live music from the Oak Hill Drifters, delicious food trucks, and amazing vendors. The fun will continue leading into the full schedule of Georgefest events, including the carnival, concerts, and annual fireworks show over Lake Eustis.
