Master Plan Community Meeting
Published on November 01, 2024
The City of Eustis will host a Community Meeting to present and hear public feedback on the Downtown Master Plan. The meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Eustis Women’s Club located at 227 N Center Street in Eustis.
The Eustis Downtown Master Plan provides a road map and vision for a dynamic future for the Downtown District. Initiated by the Eustis City Commission, and developed with citizen input, this Downtown Master Plan prioritizes embracing and building upon the City’s uniqueness, charm, culture and history. The Master Plan also includes analysis of past and ongoing planning initiatives and conceptualizing the future of the former Waterman Hospital Site, a 4.8-acre redevelopment opportunity in the heart of Eustis. Suggested projects address parking, public spaces, waterfront areas, and opportunities for housing, commercial, retail and other elements of a vibrant downtown.
Over the past year, the City of Eustis, along with Master Plan Consultants, have provided opportunities for residents to contribute their thoughts by hosting a listening session, conducting a survey and attending city events. The Eustis City Commission has also held a Commission Workshop to discuss the Downtown Master Plan.
“As we enter the last step in the process before City Commission considers the adoption of the Downtown Master Plan, it’s important that residents are comfortable that the input they provided throughout the development phase is reflected in the final product. Also, that the overall conceptual framework, and development options it outlines, will help Eustis prosper and thrive for many years to come.” said Mayor Michael Holland.
All residents are invited to attend the upcoming Community Meeting to further share opinions and ideas on the final draft of the Downtown Master Plan.
