Assistant City Manager Miranda Burrowes

Miranda Burrowes has been named Assistant City Manager for Eustis, a new position for the City, which includes the oversight of special projects, working with City Commissioners and oversight of departmental initiatives.

Burrowes is a native of Central Florida and most recently served as the Manager of Transmission Public Engagement for Duke Energy, where she worked for seven years. In her role, she managed public engagement teams, developed and managed strategic engagement plans and supported Duke Energy’s overall communications plans and outreach efforts. Prior to Duke Energy, Burrowes served for three years as the Public Relations Coordinator for the City of Eustis. Her previous experience also includes serving as the Assistant Director of Development for the Foundation for Seminole State College of Florida, and as Public Relations Coordinator for the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.

City Manager Tom Carrino will continue in his role as the City Manager, stating, “The City of Eustis is growing and the need for additional support became evident as we undertook our Strategic Plan and Master Plan for Downtown this year. Having someone of Miranda’s background and knowledge is valuable as we continue to meet the challenges associated with growth and increased development and the associated demands on the City’s infrastructure and staff.”

A resident of Eustis, Burrowes has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from the University of South Florida, where she met her husband of 13 years, Ethan. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and attending USF football games.
