Representatives from the City of Eustis recently traveled to the annual America in Bloom Conference in Columbus, Ohio where the City was recognized for several beautification projects.
The conference, which took place in late September 2024, consisted of tours, presentations and collaboration sessions with communities from around the country. Multiple award ceremonies were held throughout the conference, during which the City of Eustis received a plaque of recognition for Community Vitality. The City of Eustis was also nominated in the Community Vitality Outstanding Achievement Category and the Population 22,000 – 29,000 Category. This is the second consecutive year that the City of Eustis has been recognized by the national America in Bloom organization. Under the guidance of the Eustis in Bloom Committee they were also recognized in 2023 for Overall Impression.
Eustis in Bloom is an affiliate chapter of the national America in Bloom organization that was formed in 2023. Since its inception, Eustis in Bloom has undertaken multiple beautification projects throughout the City of Eustis including the restoration of the historic Clifford House gardens and partnering with downtown businesses to beautify storefronts. Eustis in Bloom presented both projects at the conference.
During the Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 Regular City Commission Meeting, the Eustis in Bloom team that attended the conference will give a presentation showcasing some ideas of future projects and community involvement initiatives.
