EUSTIS, Fla. (Feb. 22, 2025) – The streets of Downtown Eustis came alive today as thousands of residents and visitors gathered to celebrate the annual Georgefest Grand Parade. The highly anticipated event, part of the city’s weeklong Georgefest festivities, featured an array of vibrant floats, marching bands, and local organizations, bringing a festive atmosphere to the historic downtown area.

The parade, which began promptly at 10:00 a.m., followed its traditional route north on Bay Street from Badger Avenue. Spectators lined the streets early, enjoying pre-parade strolling entertainment before the procession officially commenced. Community groups, businesses, and schools participated in the celebration, showcasing creative floats and performances that delighted attendees of all ages.

“This year’s Georgefest Grand Parade was a tremendous success,” said Jamie Lanford, Public Relations Manager of City of Eustis. “We are thrilled to see such strong community participation and enthusiasm. Events like this bring people together to celebrate our city’s history and spirit.”

As the longest continually running celebration of George Washington’s Birthday, Georgefest continues to honor the legacy of President George Washington while fostering community pride. Beyond the parade, the festival includes live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food vendors, and fireworks, drawing visitors from across the region.

Traffic delays were expected throughout the downtown area due to road closures, but city officials worked to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
