Calling All Street Performers for Third Annual Eustis Busker Festival

EUSTIS, Fla. (Mar. 5, 2018) – The City of Eustis is accepting performer applications for the third annual Eustis Busker Festival which will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in Historic Downtown Eustis. The day-long event welcomes talent from all over the United States as street performers, also known as “buskers”, show off their talent and skill. The festival will feature musicians, dancers, comedians, jugglers, mimes, living statues, artists, acrobats and more who will compete for the $3,000 grand prize, sponsored in part by Bay and Lake Pharmacy, the event Grand Sponsor.

The free, family-oriented, festival will be presented in Downtown Eustis at “busk stops” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each busker will perform two, 30-minute acts throughout the day. Judges will rate each act and invite the top performers to the Grand Finale taking place at 6:30 p.m. in Ferran Park on the Bandshell stage. Top performers from each division will perform and compete for prizes including the $3,000 grand prize, a $1,500 People’s Choice prize, a $1,000 second prize, a $750 third place prize, and $200 divisional prizes.

“We are so excited to host this event again as last year’s inaugural Busker Festival was such a success and an event that our community really enjoyed,” said Erin Bailey, the city’s event coordinator. “As an addition to this year’s event, we’ve added travel stipends to encourage even more performers from all over the U.S. to travel to Eustis to show off their talents and complete for the grand prize.”

Stipends will be given to buskers traveling from out of the area and using local lodging. Confirmations showing proof of lodging must be submitted upon check-in at the event. Stipend amounts are as follows: $100 for performers traveling from out of state and $50 for performers traveling from outside of Lake and adjacent counties. Performers residing in the following counties are not eligible for stipend: Lake, Volusia, Marion, Seminole, Orange, Polk and Sumter. Stipends are given per entry, not per person.

Registration applications and a list of event rules and regulations are available on the City’s website at www.eustis.org/buskerfestival. Applications must include a video or video link and will be accepted through March 19, 2018. There is no charge for participant entry.

Several sponsorships for the event are available including $300 Divisional and $150 Busk Stop sponsors. For more information, visit the City’s website www.eustis.org/buskerfestival  or call (352) 483-5491.
