EUSTIS, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2016) – On Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, the City of Eustis will host the 29th Annual Light-Up Eustis Celebration in Downtown from 5 – 9 p.m. with the light-up ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will include live music and entertainment, food trucks, vendors and a visit by Santa, Mrs. Claus and Dancer the reindeer with a free souvenir photo and frame.
“The Light-Up event is a tradition in Eustis and a wonderful way to ring in the holidays with family, friends and the community,” said Mayor Michael Holland. “This year, we’ve added even more holiday décor and lights in Ferran Park so we are really looking forward to this event and to lighting up our City with holiday spirit.”
The event will kick off with performances by the Bay Street Player’s Young People’s Theatre, C3 (Community Christmas Choir), the Epiphany Celebration Choir and the Morningview Jazz Combo on the center stage in Downtown.
At 6 p.m. the public is invited to join Mayor Holland, members of City Commission, Cindy Brown, Community Relations Manager for Congressman Daniel Webster, and winners from the Miss Eustis pageant in a countdown ceremony to watch approximately 400,000 LED holiday lights come to life across Downtown and Ferran Park.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive via fire truck about 6:15 p.m. Children are invited to take a free photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus and decorate a personalized keepsake photo frame with representatives from the Lake Eustis Museum of Art. Families are also invited to decorate a GeorgeFest themed ornament, hosted by the Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce.
